The CGL is led by an elected board comprised of members from various faculties of Leibniz University Hannover. In January 2024, it was reconstituted with five members. The Chair of the Board is Prof. Dr. Inken Formann.
To support the work of the CGL and advise the board, an internationally staffed scientific advisory council operates, which will soon be newly appointed. This council includes up to 10 distinguished individuals from the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, fine arts, and literature.
